Abstract:

Interviews with several individuals acquainted with Vollmer's contribution to subject of police reform. Copy of photograph inserted. Interviewees discuss the evolution of the School of Criminology, UC, Berkeley and contacts with O.W. Wilson, Volmer's role in advising younger criminal justice professionals, personal and professional recollections, Vollmer's career as teacher and writer about police administration, the scientific crime detection laboratory at Northwestern University, Leonarde Keeler's role in developing the polygraph, etc. With this, 1 box: unedited typed transcripts of tape-recorded interviews with David G. Monroe and Spencer Parrott relating to Vollmer; biographical information on interviewees; miscellaneous supporting documents.
